Our Team

The people on your side

EPIC is owned by the groups we insure, and the physicians provide the leadership for our Board and Committee Structure. We believe our success is the result of the intimate involvement of our physician insureds in our governance, with over sixty physicians involved either on the Board or one of our committees.

The Board has seven members, with five representing the owners and, of the seven, five being emergency physicians. The Board partners with management to set strategic objectives for EPIC creating policies and guidelines appropriate towards EPIC's success.

Committees of the Board include Governance & Compensation and an Audit & Finance Committee, along with two standing committees: The Risk Management Committee and the Claims & Underwriting Committee. Standing Committees facilitate the exchange of information between the Company and its owner/policyholders, providing medical and clinical expertise to the specific requirements of the Committees. EPIC also holds a Financial Forum at least twice a year, which is led by several physician/owners in which all owners and insureds are invited to learn and ask questions about the Company's financial results.
