Our Coverages

With EPIC, you're covered

EPIC generally writes claims made policies with limits of $1 million per occurrence with a $3 million aggregate group, with the ability to write limits higher, or lower, depending upon the statutory requirements.

Key policy attributes:

  • Claims made coverage
  • Prior acts available, subject to underwriting
  • Consent to settle claims required of the insured group
  • Defense costs outside the limits of liability
  • Each physician receives his or her own $1 million/$3 million limits of coverage, with the group typically sharing in the limit of an underlying physician insured.
  • Broad coverage definition: An incident report triggers claims made coverage
  • Rating based on patient visits (Slot rating approach for staff transitions)
  • Extended reporting endorsement ('tail') coverage offered in most circumstances, subject to pricing at the time of coverage
